Secure Environment & Proven Processes

At Commonwealth Payroll & HR, security, disaster prevention and recovery are built in to our environment. By leveraging the Valiant™ suite of Workforce Management Solutions we benefit from a SAS70 Type II operating environment in the network operations center, which consists of two geographically separate Tier 1 physical data centers on two separate power grids, with each facility designed as a backup for the other. This redundancy allows for a business continuity plan designed to ensure that critical business processes continue to be available to our clients in the event of a natural disaster or other disruption to any of our facilities.

Since our applications are made available to our clients and their employees via the internet, a high-level of web security is the driving mandate. All access to the Valiant™ suite of Workforce Management Solutions is via 128-bit, SSL encryption so the movement of all personal, payroll and other sensitive information is secure and in compliance with data security laws such as Massachusetts Regulation 201 CMR 17.00: Standards for Protection of Personal Information of Residents of the Commonwealth and others.

Pre-Employment Screening Process

Our rigorous and thorough pre-employment screening process includes the following:

  • A Predictive Index, which profiles the applicant's personality to predict behavior and suitability for certain positions
  • Skill proficiency testing, which covers such skills as bookkeeping, customer service and computer literacy
  • Background checks (including county, state and federal criminal records searches), credit checks and drug testing
  • An exhaustive and multifaceted interviewing process
  • Thorough reference checking

Employees also undergo a comprehensive orientation and training process after being hired.

Insurance Coverage

We carry the following types of insurances on all our employees: general liability, errors and omissions, bonding up to $1 million, umbrella coverage and workers' compensation. Certificates are available upon request.
