Minimum wage rates are changing in many states across the country starting December 31, 2016 or January 1, 2017. Below are the highlights and a full list is available.
The Massachusetts minimum wage rate will be $11.00 as of January 1 2017.
Minimum wage for tipped employees will be $3.75 starting Jan. 1, 2017.
Massachusetts Blue Laws require some employers to pay premium pay for Sundays and certain holidays.

Maine: $9.00 ($5.00 for tipped employees) on Jan. 1, 2017

Vermont: $10.00 ($5.00 for certain service or tipped employees) on Jan. 1, 2017

Rhode Island: $3.89 for tipped employees on Jan. 1, 2017. Minimum wage for non-tipped employees remains $9.60.
