On March 27, 2020, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act was signed into law. This $2 trillion economic stimulus package was designed to repair the economic damage caused by COVID-19 and provide additional protection to individuals and businesses who lost income due to the pandemic. On December 27, 2020, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 (CAA) was signed into law to provide a second round of payments for eligible individuals. A third stimulus package, the Amercian Rescue Plan of 2021 (ARP), was signed into law by President Biden on March 11, 2021.
